A bank executive on her favorite trail

Editorial portraits for the Journal of Corporate Renewal · October 2026

Sunny Han-Jeon finds perspective on Mt. Wilson Trail, with a hula hoop in hand and the San Gabriel Valley below. For the Journal of Corporate Renewal’s October 2026 “Snapshots” feature, I photographed the East West Bank executive in a place that matters to her.

The assignment called for three distinct images: an opening spread with room for the headline and interview, a quieter portrait beside a pull quote, and a close portrait for the contents page.

Composed for the page

Two location scouts helped shape a simple approach: a small kit, available light and space for Sunny to move naturally. Across the session, I balanced environmental portraits, movement and quieter moments, with the magazine’s layouts in mind.

The published story brings those photographs together across the opening spread, interview and contents page.
